Christmas was forever ago, but I never captured it here on my blog and I have lots of pictures to share with you all. This year, the kids had almost two weeks off for Christmas break. Their school here in Austin is structured more like an elementary school, not a daycare, and observes a lot of the typical school holidays and breaks. Luckily, I had saved a lot of vacation time so I took off the two weeks. It was a nice break from work and our normal routine. I may or may not have taken naps with Luke whenever possible!
We did some Christmas decorating around the apartment, which Madeline was very into. She managed to squeeze every ornament onto our tiny tree. Even though it was tiny, it was a good little tree. Nice symmetrical shape and it hardly shed at all!
Since we didn't travel home for Christmas, my parents came out here the week before to celebrate with us. My mom made her famous cut-out cookies and frosting and let the kids go to town. I'll let the pictures speak for themself. Note: I think I'm still sweeping up sprinkles!
Grandma and Grandpa spoiled the kids with some early Christmas presents.
She also made my personal favorite, Cinnamon Rolls!
Madeline and I went to see Mary Poppins Returns over Christmas break. We both enjoyed it!
It's been a pretty cold and rainy winter here, so we try to take advantage of the nicer sunny days.
You may remember from the past few years that one of our favorite Christmas traditions is do a ginger bread house. This year was Luke's first year joining in on the fun. I found a Christmas village kit with a bunch of mini houses. It worked out well because the kids could each do a couple. Madeline gets very into the decorating and design. Luke was very into the frosting and candy...eating it that is.
On Christmas Eve, I made them their favorite "special"...aka orange juice, ginger ale, and strawberries.
Cheers!
The moment they had been waiting for...Santa came! :)
Another post coming soon...with some big news! :)
