Farewell Hannah!!

This is a rare moment. I'm up, dressed, and ready to go for the day and just waiting for everyone else in my house to wake up. I was up early saying goodbye to Hannah. This morning she left for her study abroad to Costa Rica. I am so excited for Hannah -- studying abroad, living in a different culture with a different language, new foods, and being away from your support system at home was a really memorable experience for me. I think she'll learn a lot and have a wonderful time! I wish I could have fit in her suitcase....but literally, I would not have with my growing belly.

We've really enjoyed having Hannah here the past few months. I haven't lived with Hannah (with the exception of when our house was being built) in several years so it was nice to be around her so much. Plus, Hannah is a very easy person to live with :) Madeline especially loved having Aunt Hannah around. She really got a kick out of the fact that Hannah also has a bunny. She would take her bunny into Hannah's room to visit her bunny.

Here they are with their bunnies...

Last night, everyone came over to our house for pizza. Where did your pants go, Madeline?

Our babysitter was out of town yesterday so I decided to take the day off and hang out with Madeline.  We ran lots of errands, visited George at his office, ate lunch with him, and then came back home for nap time (cleaning time for mommy). I have been on a huge cleaning spree. I have been going through every drawer, cabinet, closet, etc. No stone is being left unturned in this house. I think I may be driving George insane. Haha. What sparked the cleaning spree is that we having a garage sale next Saturday. Also, we are STILL looking for that stupid laptop charger!!!

I'll have to post some pictures of our garden. The cucumbers and pumpkins are really taking off. The carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, and a couple of other things haven't sprouted yet so I think we're going to buy some seedlings to plant today. Any gardeners out there have any recommendations on what to plant?

Well, George is now up and I think I hear Madeline rolling around in her crib so I will sign off. Have a great weekend!

Hot Peas and Barley-O!

I'll start with a question...has anyone seen our Macbook charger? Somehow we lost it and have looked everywhere for it!! :(  Thought I'd throw it out there just in case anyone has seen it...probably a long shot though.

We had an awesome three day weekend. The extra day makes such a difference, doesn't it? We got a lot done around the house and we also got some family time and relaxation in too!

Madeline loves playing in the loft now that we set up all of her toys up there. It's so nice because we can close the baby gate and keep her contained in the loft while we hang out up there with her. Our nightly routine after dinner includes heading upstairs for her bath and then hanging out in the loft for an hour or so before bedtime. Madeline plays, we watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and then we read her a book and she's off to bed. These days, we're usually off to bed shortly after her. I am still needing a lot of sleep even now though I am well into the second trimester. However, I think it probably has more to do with working full time and having a toddler than it does being pregnant! :)

Here are some pictures of Madeline with her blocks. She love building castles.

With Marie's assistance, I was finally able to capture Madeline singing "Hot Peas and Barley-O" (her favorite song) and the ABCs. She really like to belt it out sometimes!

I know I've already posted some pictures of the baby gate, but here is the finished product. My job was painting. I definitely didn't do the best paint job (there are some definitely some flaws in my work), but it'll do.
