Big News!

Well, I have the biggest news to date on my blog (although I have told everyone by now)...George and I are going to be parents in October!!! Yes, yes, yes...I am almost 20 weeks pregnant (due Oct. 23) with our first child. We're so excited for this baby and can't wait to meet it!! AND...we are also getting another niece/nephew. Brian and Terrisa are having another little one just 2 weeks after us so Paisley is going to be a big sister...which is perfect because she loves being a "big girl" now :)

We actually had an ultrasound today and did find out the gender :) BUT we are doing a little gender reveal party with Brian and Terrisa in a couple of weeks so it is hush hush until then. We did tell our immediate family though! Here is one of the pictures from the ultrasound today...can't believe it weighs only 9oz so far.

Also, here are a few pics of the growing baby bump. It wasn't really "popping" out until a couple weeks ago.

I am loading up on classes over the summer so that I don't have any classes from mid-October to mid-January. I will only have one semester (January-May 2014) after that and it is actually a pretty light semester since I will have all of my electives complete. The work load is less than ideal right now, but it will all be worth it!

Speaking of babies, my "baby" sister is all grown up. Hannah graduated from high school last week and we all couldn't be more proud of all that she has accomplished during her high school years. Some of her biggest accomplishments were winning the John Philip's Sousa Award (top band award) AND winning the "Most Outstanding Girl" award (the top award at her high school selected by the principal and faculty). Hannah has also been extremely involved...band, track, volunteer work, Distinguished Young Women, tons of AP classes, etc, etc. It is time for her to relax and enjoy her summer before starting college at ASU in the fall. Congrats, Hannah!

Emily and my mom were making a poster of pictures of Hannah and her face in this one reminded me of a face that Paisley sometimes makes. Which, by the way, guess what Paisley said to me the other day? "Stop buggin' me." Hahaha, she is a little parrot and repeats anything that she hears.

So, this blog will probably be filled with baby news over the next few months and then starting in October, it will be filled with lots of pics of the him/her!!

Weekend Trip to CA

I think I mentioned last week that George and I had a weekend trip to CA planned last week. I had to fly out there on Thursday for a work meeting so I decided to stay a few extra days and make a trip out of it. George flew out on Friday evening after work.

We spent the weekend with our old roomies, Sergio and Andi (who we rented from for our last 8 months or so in CA). The last time we saw them was actually at their wedding last July so it was definitely great to catch up. And since we have last seen them, they welcomed a new addition to their family, Oz! Their son Oz was born in January...it was great to finally meet him. He is such a good baby. He never, ever cries. I know a lot of people say that about their babies, but Oz literally did not cry the entire weekend. He just "chills" (and eats and sleeps, of course), but seems to be perfectly content. He is also a big boy with a ton of hair.

Most of the weekend was spent just hanging out, relaxing, talking, and eating. We went to a few of our favorite restaurants. We also got to spend Saturday afternoon with Sergio's whole family. They were so nice to always include us in their family things while we lived in CA, since we didn't have any of our family nearby.

Anyway, it was a fun, short trip. I'm glad we finally made it out there b/c we have been meaning to for a few months. Here are a few pictures of our trip:

A couple of these are kind of dark. I made the mistake of taking a picture of Oz with the flash on and it completely startled him (but no tears!). I felt bad so I took the flash off for the rest...

George and Oz!

Keziah and Oz! Kez is talking so much now and he is also super active. It was funny when we arrived b/c he was telling us how someone else is in our old room now. He was confused as to where we were going to sleep :)

I told you, he is a big boy (4 1/2 months) with a ton of hair!

On the way to the airport, we had to hit up our favorite spot, Porto's... I have highlighted Porto's on my blog before...

Grilling

Over the weekend we bought a grill to go in our recently finished backyard! So, we are planning to grill all week long while we still have somewhat moderate weather. Tonight we had bratwursts and tomorrow night we are having steak. George went to the Gilbert Farmer's Market on Saturday morning and bought some meat (NY strip and ground beef) from a local rancher. I can't wait to try it!

Here is the grill master himself.......

Past Two Weeks

I am so overdue on a post! Since my last post, I have finished the semester and finals and traveled to/from Rochester. It has been a great last couple of weeks!

I had a great trip in Rochester. I was able to see most of my family and also spend some time relaxing and hanging out with both Grandmas. It was nice to get away for a few days after a busy few months of work and school. I didn't get many pictures at all, but I did get one picture of my Grandma Clark's gorgeous garden. Now that we are home owners, George and I always pay attention to "curb appeal" :)

George had a great time in Vegas with the guys....although no one was a winner. Is anyone ever a winner in Vegas?! :) George also started his new job this past Monday. He is doing all of his training for the next five weeks so things have been pretty simple so far, but he is really enjoying it. He especially loves the extra two hours each day (from the lack of a commute).

Yesterday, Emily, Hannah, my mom, and I went peach picking. We were actually on our way to Schenpf Farms where we went last year, but Emily happen to spot a sign for another farm. It turns out that the peaches at Veruccio Farm were cheaper and easier to access. Also, the farm is less than 5 minutes from our house. The peaches are delicious. I have been eating at least a couple each day.

And, of course, today is Mother's Day! We celebrated Anna, George's mom, this morning by making her breakfast at their house. We prepared french toast, scrambled eggs, tortillas, bacon, and strawberries. The kitchen was crowded with three cooks -- George, Marie, and me! Then, we went to a new restaurant, Federal Pizza, to celebrate my mom. We have all been wanting to try this new brick oven pizza place for a couple of months. We ended the day at Emily's apartment. Emily made my mom's favorite, Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp.

I hope all of you mothers had a great day!!

Home Free and Last Day

I am just about home free from school. Classes are done for the semester, I have all of my Finance work submitted, and I am wrapping my a paper for an elective. I also have the next couple of days off work for my trip to Rochester tomorrow!

Today was George's last day at the Apple Store. He starts his new position working from home with Apple on Monday. He said it was really weird walking out today. He has worked there (not specifically at that location) for just about 6 years. He is ready and excited for the change....and the lack of commute!

We booked a weekend trip to Southern CA for the weekend of May 17. I have to fly out there for a work meeting on May 16 so George is going to fly out on Friday and we are going to spend the weekend with Sergio and Andi. We haven't been back there or seen them since their wedding in July so we're definitely excited. And actually, George is taking advantage of his long weekend this weekend too -- he is going to meet up with Sergio and Sergio's brother, Edward, in Las Vegas. I'm sure they'll have a good time...it's hard not to in Vegas! They are staying at Bally's (we've never stayed there) and they also bought tickets to see a boxing match. Not sure what prompted them to do that, but I guess it is something new :)

A lot to look forward to! I think I've mentioned it before, but I love to have trips planned. Boston and the cruise with most of the Warren family is not too far away either.

Better get back to wrapping up that paper.........

See you tomorrow (or the next day), everyone in Rochester!
