Move is DONE!

WooHoo!! The apartment keys have been turned in, the boxes have been unpacked (for the most part), and we are quickly settling into our new place...the MOVE IS DONE! I thought this move was a lot of work, but the sad thing is that this is probably one of the easiest moves we will ever have. Our little moving truck was nothing compared to what I remember of our family moves from Atlanta to Phoenix or Phoenix to Sacramento. Regardless, the actual moving process is no fun...what is fun though is exploring a new place! We are only an hour or so away from where we were living in Orange County, but we really haven't explored much in the Northern part of Southern CA yet. Oh yeah, funny thing...I was so excited for my new, much shorter commute when I realized that my meeting today was only 5 miles from our old apartment in Irvine...why didn't that ever happen before??! Go figure :)

I tried to capture a few pictures from the weekend!

Some of the final items in our bedroom. George's friend helped us move...which was AWESOME. It allowed me to organize/clean while they moved the big stuff.

Waiting to be moved :)

Happy to be done (and ready to take a shower!)

Our First Apartment!

Before we packed up the apartment, I wanted to take a few pictures so that years later we remember what our first apartment as a married couple looked like. I thought I'd share with you all...

Apartment 8343 at "The Park"

The other side of the door...so interesting :)

Walking in from the front door

The kitchen/craft room! (I LOVE having a big island for sewing projects)

We never got around to decorating the living room

George's music "room"

We started to run out of storage so this counter has become my craft storage! Excuse the mess :)

Our room, there is a balcony to the left

That was the grand tour! Haha :) It has been a great first "home" as a married couple.

I went on a last minute trip this past weekend to Phoenix. I was talking to my mom on Thursday night and was telling her how it had been too long since I had been home...an hour later my mom called me back saying that they had a free ticket that I could use. So, I talked to George and decided that packing could wait a few days...and the next day I was home! Thanks Mom and Dad! As usual, I had a great time hanging out with everyone. We celebrated Terrisa's birthday by going out (huge group of 20 of us) on Saturday night and also with a BBQ on Sunday. Happy Birthday, Terrisa!!

Alrighty, pack to being productive. Hope everyone else had a great weekend too!!

Need to Pack

We are trying to find some motivation to start packing! We still have a week and a half so I think I will procrastinate a little bit more....I'm sure we will get a lot of it accomplished this weekend. Fortunately, we don't have too much stuff and we aren't moving very far (just 40 miles or so North). I think I mentioned this awhile ago, but we will be renting a room from George's coworker (and friend), Sergio. It should be a good set-up...much, much closer to work for me and a bit closer for George too (plus he will be able to carpool with Sergio).

Last night we went on a bike/rollerblade ride. George was on the bike and I was on rollerblades. It was so a beautiful night (like every summer night in Southern California) and it was so much fun!!! So we decided that we are going to have to do that more often....although we should probably both rollerblade or both bike because I think I was slowing George down.

Finally, CONGRATS to my cousin Gabe and his wife Katie on the birth of their baby boy, Caleb Gabriel Moore. He was born about 5 weeks early, but from what I've heard from family, baby and mom are doing well!! :) Again, congrats to the Moore family and can't wait to meet little Caleb.

Well, that is all for now. Going to get a good night's sleep!!!!!!!!!

Back!

Well, we're back home.....and SICK!!! I seriously have the worst cold ever! George started to get stuffy yesterday, but he quickly started taking medicine so hopefully he can kick the cold before it gets worse. I am taking it easy this weekend...getting lots of sleep! :) Anyway, enough about that.

Our trip to Rochester was great! It was so nice to have a week off of work to relax and spend time with family. I am thinking that the only people who really read this blog are my family so I won't bother giving you all a play-by-play of the trip...since you were probably there :) And, as usual, Emily took all of the pictures, so I have none of those to share with you all either. Some of the highlights of our trip were: making strawberry jam, eating Abbott's Custard (love it!), Rochester Rhino's soccer game, watching my Dad, Brian, Ian, and George do a Chinese Fire Drill in the middle of downtown Rochester, Dan and Alaina's wedding (beautiful wedding and very fun reception!), eating at the Beef and Barrel in Olean, NY, going to my East Aurora, hanging out at the lake on the 4th, hanging out at both grandma's houses...and more (I just can't remember everything right now)!

I JUST REMEMBERED...something great happened on our way to Rochester - we got bumped!! The Warren family is kind of famous for getting bumped. What is a "bump" you ask?? Well, it is when there are more people than seats for a flight. They take volunteers to switch to a later flight and those volunteers are compensated with airline credit. We happen to get almost $1100 in Southwest credit AND we got in only about an hour later than our original arrival time. NOT BAD! As I was writing this, I wondered if there is a "bump record"...I didn't find anything, but I did find this article on bumping! http://www.usatoday.com/travel/news/2004-05-31-bumped_x.htm

I think my chicken noodle soup should be about ready now and I am hungry so goodbye for now!
