Sarah and DJ's Wedding

Poof! July is over and August is well under way. The highlight of July was our time in Rochester and Syracuse and Hannah and Jeremiah's visit to Pennsylvania. The trip to Rochester/Syracuse was too short. I wish we had at least a week there. We did, however, make the best of our short time. The highlights for Madeline were playing with cousins in Gabe and Katie's backyard, Sea Breeze (which she refers to as "Sea Trees"), and of course the wedding (which I'll tell you all about shortly).

You can see part of their backyard set-up in my pictures, but the pictures don't do a justice. There's a couple of slides, a treehouse, a playhouse, swings, a teeter totter, yeah, it's amazing. We currently do not have a backyard (since we're in an apartment) so I think Madeline was especially in awe of of it.

We didn't have the most ideal weather for Sea Breeze, but it was still a blast. I loved seeing the kids' excitement.  Madeline is quite the little dare devil. She did tilt-a-whirl and the log ride several times. She even wanted to do the Jack Rabbit rollercoaster, but she has a couple of years before she's tall enough.

After a few days in Rochester, we drove down to Syracuse and George and Luke drove up from PA. Sarah and DJ got married on Saturday 7/22. It was a beautiful wedding and such a fun reception! I'll guide you through the day with some pictures.

Here's my beautiful mom and aunt (mother of the bride) before the ceremony...

I didn't have my phone out during the ceremony so no pictures. Sarah was a gorgeous bride and the kids did such a great job walking down the aisle. They were old pros. I think they've really hit their stride with weddings and are available for hire should you need a flower girl or ring bearer. They work for gummies.

The backdrop for the reception was stunning. The cocktail hour was outside and right on the lake. The pictures of Sarah and DJ and the kids were taken just a few minutes away from the venue and overlooked a vineyard. I want to go back to that area someday for a wine tour!

The photographer told the girls to twirl and they happily obliged. Meanwhile, Parker stood there looking like a little stud. I thought it made for some adorable pictures.

Here are the kids on an adventure with Grandpa during the cocktail hour. They were on the hunt for the princess in the castle (the venue was the Belhurst Castle). Parker said to me, "I'm going to kiss the princess when I find her!" Haha!

The first dance...

And then those of us who danced the night away. So much fun!!

On Sunday, we headed back to Pennsylvania with Jeremiah and Hannah in tow. I took a few days off while they were here. In case you're wondering how I get so much time off, we have the option to buy extra vacation so I get almost 6 weeks of vacation per year.

The three of us accomplished a mini little tour of the Northeast during their three days here. Day 1 was spent in Lancaster county and Valley Forge, day 2 was spent eating our way through NYC, and day 3 was spent site seeing in Philadelphia. By now you all know how much I love NYC so I'll give you the highlights of our day there. Ground Zero, pizza in Little Italy, Grand Central Station, Chelsea Market, the NY Public Library, dinner from an amazing Halal food cart, Times Square, the most over the top milkshake in the world, and Central Park. I had such a wonderful time with them!

Like I typically end my posts, time for bed! It's so late for me! Goodnight!
