Hockey!

It's Monday night and I'm not in class....that could only mean one thing...I'm on break from school this week!! WooHoo! It's such a great feeling going to work on Monday morning and knowing that I don't have class at night :) So, tonight, I am hanging out on the couch with George and baking some cookies as we speak.

As you can see from the picture above, we got together yesterday for a fun day of playing some roller hockey. We used to play back when I was in junior high and high school in our old neighborhood, Grayhawk, so we had a reunion. It was more fun than I remembered, but I was pretty rusty :) George, Jeremiah, Terrisa, and Nick played for the first time ever. Also, Brittany, Shay, Glen, Jenna, and Lillian joined us after this picture was taken. My mom took some action shots (although we were trying to get her to play goalie)!

Hannah dominated with something like FIVE goals! My Dad held back for most of the game, but then showed us all up at the end....to be fair, I think he has spent a little bit more time playing street hockey than the rest of us have :)

We have several great parks in our neighborhood and one of them happens to be at the end of our street. We played hockey on the basketball court at the park. It was a windy day so there were some kids flying kites too.

AND, after hockey, we played a quick game of "hot box"....a Warren classic!

Very fun day that we will have to do again.

NYC Recap

I think a New York City blog post is in order! We had such a wonderful time hanging out, exploring, trying new restaurants, and celebrating our 2nd anniversary :) I will let the pictures do the talking!

We arrived on Thursday evening after a delay in Denver. We flew into LaGuardia and made our way via bus and subway to the hotel in Manhattan. After getting to the hotel we immediately turned around and went to dinner at Becco in the Theater District (we stayed in Chelsea).

Friday was a jam packed day for us. We went to the NY Public Library. Very cool building that we took a couple of hours to explore.

We took so many pictures all throughout the library (not in the quiet "library" part though)

The library also had a "Lunch Hour NYC" exhibit featuring New York lunch traditions throughout the years

Very interesting architecture throughout the building

Next, we went to the Museum of Natural History

Of course, we hit up the dinosaur exhibit. We also went to the Meteor exhibit (it was a popular exhibit on Friday!), North American Mammals, Human Origins, and a couple of others. There was WAY too much to see in one day.

As mentioned, we also did a lot of eating. Restaurants included Bare Burger, Pinto (Thai food), Stumptown Coffee, Da Andrea (Italian), and Wo Hop. The Mosers recommended Wo Hop and it did not disappoint. It was George's favorite by far. Pictures are below...

We did a ton of walking. At one point, I realized that we were right next to the Empire State Building!

Since it was sooo cold and windy, we drank a lot of warm coffee and tea!

Our hotel was just a few blocks from Madison Square Garden...

Got to love the NY parking lots!

Great, great, GREAT trip. We did not want to come home and get back to reality. I already want to plan our next trip back.

All My Bags Are Packed.....(not quite)

I am counting down the days until our trip to New York City. We were just there over Labor Day with my parents and Emily and we all had a blast! So, when George and I were talking about planning a trip a month or so ago, we both loved the idea of going back! We have been "Yelping" (website that reviews different attractions and restaurants) places to go for the past several days.

With school (Monday and Wednesday nights) and a busy work schedule, I took advantage of some free time over the weekend and started laying out clothes for the trip. Can you tell I am a bit anxious? :)

Last I posted, George and I were about to head out for bike ride. We rode to one of our favorite places, Joe's Farm Grill. It is a relatively short bike ride, but we can take the bike paths basically the entire way there. After about 5 minutes on our bikes we realized that it was really windy out. I guess the delicious food was a good enough incentive to power through. Haha. The ride back was smooth and the sky was pretty awesome looking (see below)!

That's all I have for tonight, folks! Goodnight!

More Pictures

I said earlier this week that I was going to post the rest of the pictures from the Super Bowl party last weekend, so here they are...

George and Nick annoyed with me for taking a picture while they were trying to watch the game!

Hannah and baby Charlotte (or Char Char as Paisley says)

I brought pretzel bites and cheese (used the pretzels rolls from Costco and cut them into fours). The cheese dip was also from Costco (and happens to be made by Nestle...I didn't even know that Nestle made cheese!)

Little Rebecca and little Lillian...

Jeremiah looks upset in this picture...he wasn't, he was just focused on the game, I think!

Paisley didn't really want her picture taken!

I also included this picture b/c I just discovered Blood Oranges. They are like oranges, but more sweet and less sour. I made orange juice out of them and we drank it in one day :)

George and I cleaned the house this morning and are about to leave on a bike ride to Joe's Farm Grill. For those of you in the area, here is a helpful guide to the Gilbert Bike Paths (we hop on at Elliot, just west of Higley)

Weekend Recap

My parents come home tomorrow after their two weeks bouncing around Italy and Cyprus. They get in tomorrow at 9PM AZ time and I will be picking them up from the airport. From what I've heard, they had a great time in Cyprus with Carol and John (my mom's aunt and uncle). I will post some pictures when they get back.

For now, here is a photo recap of our weekend!

On Friday night, Marie had a dance concert at school. She loves to dance and the family was there to cheer her on :)

On Saturday night, we hosted a game night with friends. Carrie, Hannah, Jeremiah, and I played a round of Rummikub.

I won :)

THEN...on Sunday, Brian and Terrisa hosted their annual Super Bowl party. I didn't get pictures before the sun went down, but they recently got their backyard done. It looks awesome (Brian made a very nice table for it). I will try to get some pictures of it off of Facebook to post for you non-Facebookers!

The new fire pit!

Terrisa did a great job with the food and decorations. She made the table cloth below...

I actually have some more pictures from the Super Bowl party, but they haven't downloaded yet. I will post those later too!
