Prom

Yesterday was Hannah's senior prom. For the non-Facebookers, here are some pictures of her and Jeremiah from last night. They did dinner at the Melting Pot (fondue), went to the dance, and then went back to my parent's house for the hot tub and dessert. Just call this the Hannah blog :)

Here is part of her group....there were 14 in the group.

I thought everyone looked so nice! Hannah looked gorgeous :)

Enjoy :)

Backyard Update

A quick blog update before I get started on some homework. Over the weekend, we tried a new restaurant called Osaka. It is a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant -- the kind where they cook in front of you. It was so much fun! The chef was so entertaining. We will definitely go back again. For those of you in Arizona, it is right near Superstition Springs, just south of the 60.

George has been working on some backyard enhancements over the past couple of weeks. He added these lights last weekend. The actually provide a lot of light and they look really nice too.

This week/weekend, we got a table from Ikea (actually two tables put together) and some cute red chairs too. Now we can have have people over and hang out in our backyard. Too bad it is too hot already! It will have to be after the sun goes down :) The picture with the red chairs is not uploading properly so I'll have to post that later.

Last week was such a crazy news week. I was following the Boston Marathon story all week. My brother was following it very closely too. In fact, on Thursday night, after the first suspect was caught, Brian somehow found out the Boston police radio scanners could be streamed online. He sent me the link and we both listened to them for quite awhile. It was SO intense! It was so much better than watching the news...plus we were getting the news before CNN could get it on its website or broadcast. I think Brian and I both missed our calling as FBI agents!

Busy, Busy!

Busy, busy week this week! Lots of homework and studying to do. The good news is that there is so much to do because we are quickly approaching the end of the semester. My elective is over this Saturday and my Finance class is over next Wednesday. I cannot wait for Finance to be over. Let's just say it has been a loooong class!

There is light at the end of the tunnel :) And the really great thing is that I have a trip to Rochester booked for May 2-5. I purposely timed it right after the semester as a reward to myself for finishing the first year of my MBA!

This summer, I am taking 2-3 classes. Probably 2 in summer session one and 1 in summer session two so no "summer vacation" for me! Although, I do have about 3 weeks between the end of this semester and the start of the summer session.

This weekend, I went with Hannah, my mom, and Emily to pick out Hannah's prom dress. She has several dresses in the running, but found "the one" yesterday when we went shopping. It is a gorgeous floor length, black dress with lace in the neckline. I will post pictures on the day of prom which, I believe, is April 27.

George found out last week that he got a new job! He will still be working for Apple, but he will now be working from home!! The position will involve IT/tech support via phone so he will be setting up camp in the office (Apple will be sending him a desktop computer, etc). He isn't sure what his schedule will be like yet, but he is just happy that he will no longer be commuting 45+ minutes each way to work! I'm proud of you, George! :)

Well, no exciting pictures to share today. I better get back to homework. Goodnight!

Bike Ride and Farm Animals

Just finished our taxes! Talk about last minute. I actually started working on it back in February and completely forgot about it until this morning. Oh well, they're done...and now we just wait for the return!!

Tonight we went to Charleston's for dinner. It is my Grandma Clark's last Sunday here (she leaves on Tuesday to head back to Rochester). After dinner we went to Freddy's for frozen custard. I also went with Marie to look for wedding dresses again. She said "YES" to the dress. The dress she chose was gorgeous...I'll say no more! And you'll have to wait until November for pictures.

The rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful which was fine by me!

I have a few more pictures from Gabe, Katie, and Caleb's visit. On Thursday, I took a PTO day to hang out with them. Katie, Caleb, and I went to Ikea. Ikea is definitely one of those places where you suddenly remember that you needed something (that you really probably don't need)! I bought a new duvet cover for our bed b/c I hate our old one. I have been wanting to buy one from Pottery Barn, but they are so expensive. This one from Ikea will be nice until I can justify paying for a Pottery Barn one (and it was only $25).

We all met back at our house for a bike ride, dinner, and roller hockey. Here are the pictures:

Ready to ride!

Paisley and Caleb were in on the bike ride too. My mom borrowed this seat from a friend. They even brought drinks and snacks along :)

Along the bike path is a home with a ton of farm animals. Paisley and Caleb loved the animals and the owner even had some food for kids to feed them. I think they fed them enough for the week!

It was so awesome b/c the owner came out with a 3 week old baby donkey. It was born on St. Patrick's Day and is named Patrick! It was sooo cute (pictured on the left).

I made pasta, homemade marinara sauce (tried a new recipe), meatballs, garlic bread, and salad for dinner.

Picture Time

I have a bunch of pictures to share with you all tonight. First, here is a picture of our landscaped backyard. George is going to be adding a few of his own touches over the next month or so (I will keep you posted on that!)

Here are some pictures of from the Easter egg hunt on Saturday. The picture of Caleb with the golf club cracked me up. He looks like a professional golfer! Also, check out the bottom, right picture. Like I said the other night, she wanted nothing to do with that bunny!

And the insane desserts. You've got to love the Bunny marshmallow driving the Twinkie car!

Paisley looked so cute in her Easter dress. Terrisa tried a new hair-do and it was definitely a hit (braid with side ponytail).

A couple of pictures from our time with Marie on Saturday. She loved the blazer from the picture on left...she thought it looked very "professional"....but she ended up going for the outfit on the right because she could get a skirt, tank top, necklace, and lip gloss instead of just the blazer :)

Brother and sister hanging out!

A few from the Easter egg hunt that my parents did for them. Poor Caleb ended up rubbing up against a cactus at the end of the hunt. I remember when that happened to Brian when we first moved to AZ in 2000. I think he was crying too!

These two pictures are too cute to not share. I was pretty impressed that Gabe got two 2 year olds (or almost 2 in Caleb's case) to sit down to read a book...at the same time!

I think I've mentioned it before, but you can click on the pictures to make them bigger if you want.
