January Travels

Before I start writing, I have to share this picture of Madeline. Over the weekend we were up at Sunrise and I snapped this picture of her. I love it :)  FYI- the hat is covering Madeline's very short and crooked bangs. I tried to cut them last week, like I have in the past, but this time she suddenly turned. Oh well...they'll grow!

We have been doing quite a bit of traveling this month and even more is in store for me. We went to California to see Sergio and Andi two weekends ago and last weekend we went skiing in Pinetop with our friends Derek and Kelly. Madeline did very well in the car on both trips. Next week, I am off to Minneapolis for work (General Mills is headquartered there). I am packing my warmest clothes! Then, the following week, I am going to San Francisco (staying right in the city!) for 3 days for work again -- still packing my warm clothes! And finally, Brian, George, Terrisa, and I are going to NYC for 4 nights over Super Bowl weekend. The NYC trip has been planned for awhile and the work trips recently came up. I normally don't have to travel so much for work, these are sort of "one-offs". I do enjoy traveling, even for work, but it is going to be busy! I also don't like being away from Madeline so much. She has been very attached to me recently, which kind of makes it worse. I know, of course, that she is in good hands with George (and the help of family), which makes it better. Plus, I will FaceTime.

This marks week 2 of running for me. In fact, I just got back from a run. It feels so good to get out and exercise...I need to remember this feeling on the nights that I feel like sitting on the comfortable couch instead of hitting the pavement! Isn't it so easy to just sit on the couch?!

Madeline is learning new things everyday. Sometimes she surprises us with things that she learns or stuff that she says. For example, she loves bananas and just the other day she pointed and said "nana!" She will say "beep, beep" when she is pushing around one of her little toys or her stroller. And my favorite...she says "dank you" when you give her something that she wants! I think that this is my favorite stage of her so far.

Not too much else that's new around here. I think it's off to bed for me! After all, it's 9:23PM...

Christmas Group Pictures

When I posted the other day, I left off some go the group pictures from Christmas.

Here are the Warren kids with our spouses/signifiant others...

The entire group (minus Madeline) b/c she was napping

Brian bought us all nerf guns to have a nerf war. Here we are with our guns. Note that Madeline is in this picture, but is hiding behind Daddy's head :)

Thought some of you haven't met him, might want to get a good look at Emily's boyfriend, Edward! :)

Ian (very tall Ian) stood on the counter to get a picture of all of us before we started opening presents. He couldn't get us all into one shot so here there are two...

Christmas Break!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

This is a very overdue post. I have been enjoying vacation, some time off, and visiting with family over the last could of weeks. I will catch you up with some pictures!

I will start with these adorable pictures of Madeline from today. It has been very cold (for us) over the last few days. It was in the 40's when we went to the park, but that didn't stop Madeline from having a blast on the baby swing. She was so excited!!

Last week, Madeline "made" this little ornament at her babysitter's house. I was excited to display her first homemade ornament on the tree.

The Harts (cousins and Aunt) into town on Christmas Eve. We had a really nice time visiting with them. We haven't lived near family in so long so we love it when family visits! While they were here we went horseback riding. It was so much fun!

I think this is a really neat picture of my dad...

On Christmas morning we opened a couple of Madeline's presents at our house and then headed over to my parent's house.

I take my wrapping pretty seriously! :)

I have been waiting to surprise George with this gift for over a month! He has been wanting a Love Sac for years so I knew he would be so excited. I also knew that he had NO idea that I bought one. It was so exciting for me to get over to my parent's house to surprise him. He loves it and has been using it a lot.

We recently got a Top Golf in Gilbert. Think driving range mixed with a bowling alley....it's awesome. We went there with the Harts on Monday night. I want to go back!

Some of the group...

We were all sick with colds over Christmas. Madeline's cold was pretty bad -- she also broke out in a rash on Christmas. I ended up taking her to the doctor on the 26th. She was cracking me up b/c she kept looking out of the room.

We're all back to healthy now :)

I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas!!
